This sewing pattern is designed for sizes 30 to 46 and is ideal if you want to make a blazer, cosplay outfit or costume with a bold, distinctive finish. It is rated as an intermediate project, so it’s a good choice when you have some sewing experience and want a garment with real presence.

A design with strong impact

This lined jacket-style design stands out thanks to its sharp collar, front button fastening, long sleeves with distinctive cuff detail, and the shaped seams and pleats at the front and back. The overall effect is structured and theatrical, making it perfect when you want your dressmaking project to feel special rather than everyday.

Ideal for creative sewing projects

Whether you are sewing a statement blazer, a cosplay piece or part of a costume, this pattern gives you a solid base to work from. Fabrics with enough body will help the collar, shape and details hold beautifully, so it’s worth choosing carefully. If you are looking for fabric by the metre, a suitable lining fabric and a dressmaking fabric with structure, this pattern is a versatile starting point.

For your next project

Simplicity 9342 combines eye-catching style with clear construction, making it a practical and inspiring choice for your next make. Use contrast, shape and texture to create a garment with its own character, whether you wear it as a blazer or build it into a costume or cosplay look.
