Nicky Velours in dark blue is a wonderfully soft and comfortable fabric that makes you want to start sewing straight away. Its deep, rich colour and distinctive velvety surface give this plain fabric a refined look for many dressmaking projects. With a composition of 80% cotton and 20% polyester, a weight of 250 g/m² and a generous width of 150 cm, you get a breathable and stable base to work with. This knitted quality feels beautifully supple and has a pleasant stretch across the width, giving you great wearing comfort.

Versatile projects with knitted velour

Thanks to its structure, this fabric is highly versatile. Because it has a lovely give and feels exceptionally soft, it is an excellent choice for designs where freedom of movement matters most. The TVI drape: 3/5 means it has a medium drape; it falls softly around the body while still offering enough body to hold its shape well. When sewing, it is best to use stretch or jersey needles so the elastic structure stays intact and you achieve the best result.

This fabric is not only ideal for warm baby clothing such as soft bodysuits and pyjamas, but also works well for swimwear and matching accessories, such as a lightweight beach poncho or a cosy robe. It is also often used as a hard-wearing cover for treatment couches or mattress covers. Whatever you choose to make, this fabric gives you a high-quality finish you can enjoy for a long time.
